The ASICS GEL-NYC has been one of the Japanese brand’s most relevant sportstyle offerings since it debuted last year. On top of a wide selection of GRs and spinoffs like the GEL-NYC 2055 and GEL-NYC Utility, the model has proven to be a go-to canvas for collaborations, routinely touched up by a steady stream of different brands and industry figures. Now, PLEASURES co-founder Alex James shares images of his interpretation on Instagram.
First-look shots reveal an earthy brown, yellow, and soft pink mix, lending a slight 1990s hiking shoe vibe. Brown suede comprises the mudguard, eyestays, tongue panel, and toe cap, with the same shade painting the midsole and GEL capsules for cohesion. Building on the outdoor-minded colors at play, PLEASURES brings pink ripstop to the base as opposed to traditional mesh, affixing its logo to the toe box in brown stitching.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen ASICS and PLEASURES join forces, but it’s their first joint-effort in over two years (dating back to 2022’s GEL-LYTE III). Prior to that, they convened on several projects from 2019-2021.
Alex James states that the PLEASURES ASICS GEL-NYC will release on October 11th (1:00 PM EST) via pleasuresnow.com for $160.
