Junya Watanabe is no stranger to sending waves through the world of fashion, but the ripple effect left earlier in January has resulted in a never-ending rumbling of interest surrounding New Balance’s most polarizing release of the year — the 1906L.
With New Balance officially launching the metallic silver colorway earlier in September, Junya Watanabe is up to bat next with the two colorways revealed earlier this year at Paris Fashion Week. Dropping under the MAN sub-print of his namesake label, the Japanese menswear legend offers up properly clean-cut execution of the model with premium leather constructions and succinct branding.
On one hand is an all-white leather upper above an all-black 1906 cushioning unit, with the Junya Watanabe MAN logo pressed and printed in black on the tongue. On the other is true all-black execution with the labeling in white.
Both colorways of the New Balance 1906L are confirmed to arrive at Dover Street Market New Yor, Comme des Garçons New York, and the DSMNY online shop on October 18th, 2024. An MSRP is likely in the high $200s.
