Seoul and Boston collide to fiery effect.

thisisneverthat Brings Trademark Neutrals To The New Balance 1000

Updated November 7th, 2024: Additional retailer images of the thisisneverthat x New Balance 1000 have been revealed. An official release date has not yet been announced.

South Korean imprint thisisneverthat may not be the largest player in footwear; after all, they only began that journey in earnest in 2019. As TINT careens towards its 20th collab pair in that span, New Balance is unquestionably their most valuable partner. At this stage, the duo’s work making up over half of the thisisneverthat’s collab catalog to date. It’s no surprise that they’re reuniting, then, ushering in a co-branded take on the red-hot New Balance 1000.

Save for a few editions of the New Balance 550, each thisisneverthat New Balance so far has remained in the neutral, metallic world of tech runners, only diverging for select accent shades. The New Balance 1000 very much remains in that lane, echoing the “Silver Metallic” edition that brought the model its first GR. A vastly lightened base layer of off-white/cream is the most significant divergence, but this design’s veins of fire red throughout keep a palpable sense of energy.

As of writing, release information for the thisisneverthat New Balance 1000 has yet to be announced. Expect official word from either brand soon, with retail almost assuredly hovering around $150 – $165.
