It’s been a somewhat scant year for fans of the Air Jordan 12. Though it persists as one of the most beloved silhouettes in MJ’s original 14, we’ve only gotten two bonafide releases this calendar year.
Devotees will be rewarded for their patience in a major way as we look ahead to 2025, however; classic colorways like the Jordan 12 “Taxi” and Jordan 12 “Flu Game” reportedly earmarked for retros. To whet palettes, a spin on those same configurations lands with the Air Jordan 12 “Blueberry,” a dark horse contender for one of 2024’s best.
Elucidated by the fruity theme in the title, the December drop functions as a palette swap of the “Cherry” colorway, an OG look last revived in 2023. Though the leather mudguard and sole switch to “Game Royal,” all else is the same, including white leather radiating outwards on the upper and a jet-black fabric interior.
Though it doesn’t reach the level of the vaunted Holiday Air Jordan 11, the AJ12 has quietly emerged as a winter staple in recent memory. With the exception of 2021, the last few months of the year have brought a new classically-styled pair on a consistent yearly basis, with pairs like the “Black Taxi,” “Royalty Taxi,” “Reverse Flu Game,” and “Game Royal” keeping the faux-tradition alive.
The Air Jordan 12 “Blueberry” releases on December 18th in full family sizing, with a price breakdown as follows: adult ($210), GS ($150), PS ($90), TD ($75). Keep an eye on our Jordan Release Dates for further info on which stockists will carry this pair.
