The Japanese streetwear imprint continues its exploration of the adidas archives with its first-ever collaboration on a runner. Already dominating the retro silhouettes such as the Superstar and Stan Smith while also lending a hand in elevating Damian Lillard’s signature shoe line, Bape now adds its sublime touch to a 2000s era runner.
The adidas Orketro captures the retro-futurist aesthetic that has dominated the casual lifestyle market over the last half-decade. Still going strong to close out 2024 and heading into the 2025, this trend now clashes with one of most iconoclastic brands in street fashion history.
A Bathing Ape’s signature shooting star motif appears on the upper of this multi-layered silhouette, completely replacing the three-stripes placement that typically sits at the outer toe of the foot. The brand’s gorilla stamp appears on the insole as well.
Three colorways of the Bape adidas Orketro are expected to launch on November 15th. An MSRP for a standard adidas Orketro sits at $160, which means this Bape iteration could be closer to $200. Stay tuned for updates.
