Andrew Rizzo Jaden Smith is releasing his next New Balance collaboration on November 15th; an “Up In The Clouds” pack comprised of two MSFTSrep 0.01 colorways.
In Jaden’s words: “These shoes are inspired by nature, specifically the beach. Sand on the ground and clouds in the sky— the meeting of worlds. The textures of the shoes are inspired by renaissance paintings of the 1700s in Florence. This collaboration is about imagination and dreams being the catalyst for change in the world.”
The “Linen” aka “Sand” colorway features a full canvas upper, introducing a never-before-seen texture to the eccentric, retro-inspired MSFTSrep 0.01. The “Baltic Sea” colorway, meanwhile, counters with an all-leather base. To the uninitiated; Smith’s signature MSFTSrep 0.01 model combines retro basketball aesthetics (like those of the New Balance 550) with futuristic edginess, standing out by way of its spliced-up midsole.
As a whole, this marks the third Jaden Smith New Balance shoe release we’ve seen since the MSFTSrep 0.01 debuted in late 2023. While there was plenty of energy around Jaden Smith x New Balance when their partnership kicked off in 2019, the last twelve months and change have told a different story. Look no further than preceding MSFTSrep 0.01 releases like the distressed grey and black/white, both of which can be found on sale at retailers.
