The inaugural Swarovski x Nike collaboration had the sneaker game in a chokehold. In 2017, the world famous jeweler came out with a duo of bedazzled Air Max 97s that were met with extraordinary demand despite their premium price tag to match. Now nearly a decade later, Swarovski has its sight set on Sean McDowell’s Air Max Plus.
Swarovski’s latest Air Max shoe was unveiled in two colorways, “Pimento” and “Moonlight,” during a SNKRS Showcase back in June. While the “Pimento” doesn’t have a solid date yet, the “Moonlight” will release in-store at select Foot Locker locations on December 5th. The shoe features a black base and midsole with Swarovski crystals pasted onto the overlays, complete with Swarovski co-branding and a microfiber dustbag. Foot Locker tapped WNBA star Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings for the campaign, as shown below.
Discounting a Swarovski x Air Max 1 Golf in 2019, the delivery marks the first Swarovski x Air Max lifestyle shoe since their aforementioned debut capsule. Rumors of a three-way Swarovski x Supreme x Air Max 95 came about in 2019 as well, but such a collaboration never materialized. While we haven’t heard of any additional upcoming Swarovski x Nike collaborations, the Austrian jeweler will debut its first ever Jordan Brand project in 2025. A Swarovski Jordan 1 High is expected for Summer 2025, and a Swarovski Jordan 1 Low is earmarked for next May.
Back to the more immediate future, the Swarovski Air Max Plus “Moonlight” releases via Nike SNKRS and in-store at select Foot Locker locations on December 5th. The shoe commands a $450 shelf price due to its premium nature and will be available in women’s sizes only (5 to 14.5). See detailed campaign images below if you plan on trying for a pair.
