Original article, published January 13th, 2025: Taqwa Bint Ali is among the industries’ fastest risers, nabbing roles in Fendi and John Paul Gaultier campaigns before recently moving on to a wide-ranging Levi’s collection. As she moves into filling out the portfolio with some true major labels, her undying commitment to championing Muslim women’s place in sport remains at the center of her efforts.

Now adding the Three Stripes into her rolodex, you’d be a fool to assume she’s aiming at anything different this time around, the pair unveiling the adidas adiStar Pose. It’s an entirely new silhouette that blends the Three Stripes’ performance-minded with an eye towards the fashionable, finding that midpoint by fusing the adiStar cushion and classic ballet shoes.

While the sole unit from the former silhouette remains intact, the upper is entirely redesigned. That’s not only by chopping out the traditional lacing system for a Mary Jane shape, but additionally by shifting and reforming the silhouette’s upper as well as adding new curvilinear overlays to the toe and cutting out the quarter panel behind the Three Stripes.

It won’t come as a shock to anyone that a full tonal treatment is in order for this runway-meets-sidewalk collab, with the adistar Pose taking on all-over “Metallic Grey.” The Taqwa Bint Ali adidas model releases on January 22nd via CONFIRMED and the adidas site, retailing for $130 upon arrival.
