Original article published January 20th, 2025: After a strong “rookie season” in 2024, the New Balance 1000 is now looking to repeat the success of its sibling, the New Balance 1906R, and rise to a dominant lifestyle position after being revived from the brand’s backlog. With that model near inescapable status, it’ll be a tall task, but all the Boston giant can do is assemble as deep a field of knockout colorways as they can — and the New Balance 1000 “Color Dipped” pack is a great way to start things off.
Tracing back to the shoe’s March ’24 debut, the top/bottom color-blocking displayed here has been a reliable formula for the New Balance 1000, leading to consistent reuse on subsequent pairs. In truth, the three shoes featured here are the best replication of the “Mallard Green” colorway we linked, maintaining the suede mudguards and neutral ripstop underpinnings from that pair. Off-white leather uppers sit atop these flashy lower halves, while black branding hits across all three provide a sensible throughline.
