Since linking up for the first time in 2018, the Bulgarian designer has ascended from collaborator to in-house curator and tastemaker, charting ASICS’ direction through reimagined models and all-new silhouettes alike.

Next up for Kiko and co. is a new version of the ASICS GEL-Kiril; a threequel to the first model he designed from the ground-up with the Japanese sneaker brand. Right off the bat, the GEL-Kiril 3 looks slightly less experimental than its predecessors. The first model featured quilted overlays and the second was a slip-on, but the third stays closer to established Sportstyle makeup with familiar branded sidewalls. However, that’s not to say that the GEL-Kiril 3 lacks unique qualities. The leather sidewalls feature an earthy mud-inspired texture, and the toe box is comprised of grooved TPU material. The lower half is consistent with the first two models, complete with a floral-patterned outsole that stretches up onto the toe.

Kiko unveiled a “Brown/Yellow” colorway on Instagram alongside what appears to be some cryptic release information. We’re expecting the model to pre-launch at London’s Institute Of Contemporary Arts on February 22nd (between 1:00 and 6:00 PM local time). Both colorways in the gallery below are expected to hit asics.com by the end of February. We’ll update this article with more official images and a firm global release date once we learn more.
