Just this decade, they’ve already chalked off ASICS, Salomon, Vans and Bape on top of their ongoing partnerships with Converse and Nike. Perhaps their most reliable relationship in recent times outside of those two Beaverton sub-brands is New Balance, forging new product with the Boston brand on nearly a bi-annual basis. It should come as no surprise that Comme des Garçons has stuck to their monochromatic home base for each of those capsules, again tapping into that greyscale world for the upcoming CDG New Balance 990v6.
Those carrying any passing familiarity with CDG sneakers should recognize the inverted arrangements on display here. Both editions of the CDG New Balance 990v6 execute entirely tonal colorways, of all-white and all-black, delivering that on a mesh and leather build that aligns well with the model’s defauly materials. Branded “CDG Homme” tags on either shoe mark the only real additional divergence.
With how the 990v6 champions Made in USA materials, it does make for a like-for-like collaboration, pairing that inline quality with the elevated Comme Des Garcons touch. Zooming out, this showcases how even if the silhouette isn’t “brand new” any long, it very much persists as a hot collaborative silhouette. Just so far in 2025, the Action Bronson New Balance and Shohei Ohtani New Balance trains have each made a stop at the Made in USA property.
Look for the CDG New Balance 990v6 releasing sometime during the Spring/Summer ’25 season. Retail pricing is unclear for now, but we’ll be sure to keep this article and our Sneaker Release Dates page updated with the latest info. Enjoy official images embedded below in the meantime.
