The saga continues.

Fragment Design and Various Artists Meet Converse Again With A Jack Purcell

Fragment Design and Tokyo streetwear brand Various Artists are reconvening for another three-way collaboration with Converse. Following a Chuck 70 collab in late 2024, Hiroshi Fujiwara and co. are applying a near identical vision to the Jack Purcell model.

While Fragment’s Jordan releases can often be distinguished by the brand’s signature color (royal blue) and unique blocking, their Converse collabs tend to stay on the more conservative side. Much like Fragment’s Chuck 70 and myriad Moncler x Converse collaborations before it, white contrast stitching is here brought to an all-black canvas base. The style code is paired with Various Artists text on the sides, complemented by VA and Fragment logos on the spine/backtab. A stitched white rectangle appears on the lateral side, while green insoles featuring VA x Fragment x Converse co-branding round out the delivery.

To the uninitiated; this silhouette was originally created by Canada’s B.F Goodrich Company for badminton star Jack Purcell, who became World Badminton Champion in 1933. Converse bought the rights to the Jack Purcell in the 1970s, adding another canvas model akin to the All-Star to its catalog. A straighter collar, new layered rubber toe cap, and smoother, line-less midsole are the main differences worth calling out.

The Fragment x Various Artists x Converse Jack Purcell is scheduled to release June 28th via store.vatokyo.com, priced at ¥19,800 (about $135). Stay tuned for potential updates regarding a worldwide release.
