Andrew Rizzo Eric Koston’s signature shoes might not be a focal point for Nike SB (at least for now), but the pro skater and entrepreneur is still wholly part of the fabric over in Beaverton. After playing a key role in developing the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4, Koston has been spotted a handful of times in the sub-brand’s next crossover effort; the Nike SB Air Max 95. In playing proper tribute to the Nike SB legend, Koston will be releasing his own collaboration come Holiday 2025. First look images now let us know what to expect.
The sneaker’s navy blue + yellow combination conjures memories of “Michigan” Air Max colorways, but the more likely reference is California’s official state color palette (and/or the San Bernardino city flag). The sidewalls go from hairy suede up top to nubuck down below, incorporating a subtle light-to-dark blue gradient across the bottom three layers. The yellow accent color appears most notably within the Air units, making additional cameos on the outsole and mesh upper portion. As for the branded touches, Koston’s last name cleverly appears in the Air Max 95 font on the right tongue. Thai text reading “Nike” on the lateral side of the right toe honors Koston’s roots, while the Nike SB logo appears in yellow on the spine.
Only one other colorway of the Nike SB Air Max 95 has been spotted as of this writing; a “Cactus Flower” edition earmarked for Fall 2025. We’ve yet to get any official word on the sneaker’s skateboarding modifications, but the Koston 95 gallery below reveals a new herringbone tread pattern underfoot. Moreover, while the AM95 is currently rolling out “big bubble” styles for its 30th anniversary year, neither of the two SB colorways feature that OG-inspired quality.
The Eric Koston x Nike SB Air Max 95 doesn’t have a firm release date yet, but we’re currently anticipating a Holiday 2025 arrival for $200. Stick with us for any and all updates over the coming months, including official images.
