Quintessential colorways meet clever hardware changes.

BEAMS Slaps Its Name On The Shell Toe Of The adidas Superstar II

adidas is pushing the Superstar heavily in 2025, with the Three Stripes checking off myriad collabs (with names like CLOT, Wales Bonner, and AVAVAV to name a few) and also enlisting Samuel L. Jackson to star in a video campaign documenting the model’s history. In continuing the Superstar’s momentum, the German sneaker giant is now linking with BEAMS on a two-pair project set to release in short order.

As tipped off by our title, the highlight is a new shell toe design that incorporates the BEAMS name within the rubber. It’s far from a mere logo-slap, but a clever re-working of the Superstar’s most iconic feature. Keeping focus on that clever hardware change, BEAMS opts for two quintessential, unassuming colorways; black/white and white/black.

The collaboration appears to consist of the Superstar II silhouette, which was the model’s “normal” in the 1990s. It’s got a padded tongue, chunkier midsole, and somewhat wider fit, although it’s not nearly as puffed-up as Pharrell’s Superstar 92.

The BEAMS x adidas Superstar II releases through BEAMS on July 4th and is currently on END. Clothing’s calendar for July 10th. Budget for an MSRP of $130 if interested.
