Andrew Rizzo While the Air Max 95 is focused on big bubbles, the Air Max Plus is focused on big branding. We’ve spilled ink on several upcoming colorways featuring outlined “Tuned Air” text in recent weeks, and now we have another to report. This “Obsidian/Comet Blue/Glacier Blue” do-up is the latest of its kind to hit the ‘net, shown here via official images.
The dark “Obsidian” hue lays out the foundation up top, settling on the base, tongue, lining, and joined toe/mudguard/heel areas. Clear TPU overlays allow the design’s hallmark feature – oversized “Tuned Air” text across the lateral and medial sides – to shine through in all its glory. The text fades from “Glacier Blue” to “Comet Blue” from the top-down here, echoing the tried-and-true gradient style we see time and again on Sean McDowell’s cult classic silo. The “Glacier Blue” shade returns on a set of pull laces (as opposed to rounded sport laces), as well as the midfoot plate and Air bubbles underfoot. Finally, a white midsole and black outsole round out the pair.
