The Nike Total 90 III Gets Vintage In Matte Leather And Suede

The Total 90 III is perfectly in-tune with the Y2K footwear trend, but Nike seems intent on dialing the clock back even further. While most colorways have appropriately stayed in the 2000s with eye-catching metallics and striking colors, we’ve also been seeing styles that come straight out of the neo-vintage playbook. Joining “Fir” and “Pearl White” looks in that department is this “Black/Sail” colorway for Fall 2025, shown here via Nike officials.

While the “Fir” and “Pearl White” Total 90s achieve a vintage aesthetic through heavy distressing, these go a different, more subtle route. Tumbled matte leather replaces the glossy finish of most releases, and the medial side features a texture swap to suede. Nike’s off-white “Sail” hue mimics the effects of aging on the midsole, laces, and branded elements, while the rest of the design keeps things low-key in black. The end result is a sneaker that’s less Y2K and more 1970s/80s; a more solid option for those who value versatility over flair.

The Nike Total 90 III “Black/Sail” retails for $115 and is expected to arrive via nike.com and boutiques. No concrete release date has been set, but we’ll let you know as soon as pairs become available (download our Kicksfinder App to get updated in real time).
