Matt Varga The paint on the A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 6 and the brand’s “Every Summer Tells A Story Collection” is barely dry, but there’s never a quiet moment when it comes to the Jumpman’s most prolific collaborator. As far back as January, when we broke the news of this shoe, the world knew that James Whitner’s label would be treading into previously uncharted territory with an upcoming capsule. We’re now tangibly seeing the fruits of that info as the A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 6 finally comes to light.
Perhaps in unsurprising fashion, these first look images splay out the usual coloring that’s paced the AMM backlog; “Smokey Mauve” suede sets the tone for this shoe, bracketed by a black heel clip that contains a stripe of patented burgundy. Look inside for another hallmark, as “Diffused Taupe” continues the refined, low-contrast atmosphere by painting the quilted interiors, aligning with the monogram textured insoles. Where we do see some innovation is in the A Ma Maniere branding, here taking the place of the Jordan spell-out text on the left tongue while maintaining Nike Air stamps at the very rear of this design.
Once materialized, this will mark Maniere’s third foray with Nike, Inc. just this year, following their aforementioned work centered on the Air Jordan 5 and the “For The Love” series that revolved around the Air Jordan 3. Alongside these first looks, new information points to this being an earnest two-pack, joining the A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 6 “Smokey Mauve” with a partner AJ6 in “Sail/Black/Smokey Mauve/Cool Blue.” A Maniere Jordan 4 in “Dark Mocha” also looms for release before the year’s end.
