The Caged New Balance 9060 X Gets Slimy In Green

A new look for Fall/Winter 2025.

The Caged New Balance 9060 X Gets Slimy In Green

New Balance has made a habit of milking popular silhouettes for all they’re worth — something we’ve seen time and again with the New Balance 1906R and its various offshoots (none more controversial than the New Balance 1906 Loafer). To a lesser extent, the Boston brand has also applied its transformative powers to the chunky 9060, debuting a sandal called the New Balance 8040 and, for our purposes, a caged version dubbed the New Balance 9060 X. On the heels of an upcoming “Black/Silver” colorway, a fresh, slime-green option has also surfaced ahead of its Fall/Winter 2025 release.

Reminiscent of Nickelodeon’s slime (and maybe even an Attitude Era wrestling faction), the New Balance 9060 X highlights its defining feature with a semi-clear TPU cage in light green. The rest of the upper, including slim synthetic protective panels running beneath the cage, comes in black. Underfoot, the ABZORB and SBS-cushioned sole unit adds subtle flashes of lighter green along the sides and outsole.

The New Balance 9060 X “Green/Black” releases Fall/Winter 2025 for $160 USD. Expect pairs to drop via newbalance.com and select retailers.
