Sneaker News Thick leather AVIREX jackets and adidas Superstars are steeped in the history of New York City hip-hop fashion. Both are icons in their own rights, withstanding the test of time to maintain their reputations as firm staples in the timeline of the culture, past and present. For the first time in history, the two imprints collide for an official collaborations on the timeless icon as well as select apparel pieces to tell a story that only 16 bars can.
Featuring Joey BadA$$ and model/DJ MJ, the AVIREX x adidas Originals collection is highlighted by a reimagined Superstar that features a fold-down tongue. The leather outerwear brand’s logo hits the surface of the extended tongue as well as the right heel, while adidas’ trefoil stays on the left heel. Cobranded insoles are featured inside. Additionally, a special apparel collection consisting of a jersey as well as an AVIREX x adidas icon jacket was also created to commemorate this partnership.
In celebration of this launch, adidas Originals will host a pop-up on October 17th in New York City’s SoHo district (395 Broome St); there, the community can purchase the Superstars before anyone else. A wider launch is scheduled for Monday, October 20th exclusively at the adidas Originals flagship store in NYC.
