Outside of Travis Scott shoes and the Jordan 1 High ’85 “Bred,” interest in the Air Jordan 1 throughout 2025 has been fairly muted. Oversaturation and a shift toward silhouettes like the AJ4 and AJ3 have pushed the model out of the spotlight for the time being. Even so, every silhouette has its loyalists, and the Jordan 1 still boasts one of the largest and most dedicated fanbases in the sneaker world.
The “Sail” AJ1 starts with a clean two-tone foundation enhanced by several compelling material choices. The overlays come in tumbled Sail leather, while the base is kept crisp in smooth white. From there the textures get more interesting: grey canvas takes over the eyestays, the collar features a pebbled leather finish, and the Swoosh arrives in grey elephant-print leather. An exposed foam tongue introduces a bit of a vintage feel, complete with red Nike Air branding that ties in with the spine accent. Rounding out the design is a subtle embroidered Jumpman on the toe box rendered white-on-white.
Though unrelated to the pair at hand, it’s hard not to recall the 2017 Jordan 1 “Sail,” a low-key release at the time that later became beloved for its top-tier materials, outperforming nearly every non-collab AJ1 in recent memory in that regard.
Back to this year’s drop: the Air Jordan 1 “Sail” releases December 1st, 2025 in full family sizing (12/6 via SNKRS). Scroll back up to the Where To Buy section for purchase links.
