The New Balance 1906F Debuts In 2026

The saga continues.

The New Balance 1906F Debuts In 2026

The New Balance 1906 family of retro tech runners (and one tech loafer) continues to expand. 2026 will mark the debut of yet another spin on the quintessential New Balance 1906R called the New Balance 1906F, shown here publicly for the first time.

The midsole remains consistent across the 1906 line, equipped with ABZORB SBS cushioning in the heel for all-day comfort. The major update is the upper. The sneaker uses a sleek synthetic base layer similar to the “no sew” version of the 1906R, which interestingly doesn’t have its own letter designation. The defining feature of the 1906F is a network of thousands of TPU accents placed where leather and suede overlays typically sit, adding substantial depth and a distinctly futuristic feel. Pull laces are included with the spinoff, accompanied by a pull tab on the heel for added utilitarian appeal.

We can’t help but think of the Nike Ja 3, which takes up a similar look distinguished by a plethora of Ja Morant logos. New Balance released a different 1906 spinoff also called the 1906F a few years back, but that version differs greatly from this style, placing a stronger emphasis on materials like suede and canvas.

Several New Balance 1906F styles are set to release in 2026, including the white/silver and black/grey colorways shown below. No concrete release date has been announced yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
