Credit where credit is due: by way of the Louis Vuitton Vans controversy and him expanding the borders of his adidas VIRGINIA venture, Pharrell Williams has managed to remain a mainstay on our front page even without a ton regarding his cash cow, the adidas Jellyfish.
An uncommonly bankable, coveted commodity in today’s depressed resale landscape, both the multi-hyphenate and the Three Stripes have been able to hang their hat on instant sell-outs and plenty of eyeballs for the exploded silhouette, now looming once again in a “Timber” variation. Following the “Triple Black” and “Royal Blue” release in February, the name of the game for the Jellyfish has been experimentation, pushing into red/blue on the feet of James Harden and black/green in the hands of Chief Keef.
The adidas Jellyfish “Timber” instantly becomes the most far-flung of the chunky tech runner’s explorations. The titular brown foundation sets this up as the earthiest to date, but veins of vivid yellow running across the body and in pockets on the heel help electrify the profile overall. The usual ballooned Three Stripes branding and Jellyfish/VIRGINIA stamps on the tongue round out this colorway.
The adidas Jellyfish “Timber” doesn’t carry a firm release date despite the appearance of these official images. The model overall is next dropping with the adidas Jellyfish “Triple White,” so a Fall/Winter launch for the pair at hand seems likely.
