CNCPTS may not be the most high-volume collaborator out there any longer, but trust when their name appear son the newswire, they’re going to make it count. Owners of among the more iconic series in Nike SB history with their rainbow of “Lobster” looks and the driving force behind recent stunners like the ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 “Out of Office,” doubtlessly their most prosperous partnership of late has been with New Balance; the 997 “Montage,” 100 “Mile,” and two champagne-inspired 740s the physical proof.
The “Montage’ is the relevant one here, marking a shift in their efforts with the Boston brand from general release models to Made in USA fare, again the case as teaser shots of a co-designed New Balance 990v4 come to light. Making the rounds late Tuesday/early Wednesday before initial teasers shots were removed, CNCPTS pulled a variety of social media stars for a Western-styled reveal spot, quickly bolstered by some @arab_lincoln photography.
For the “Patina,” the silhouette explores shaggy beige suede, rich burgundy counterparts at the rear, and perforated brown leather running across a neutral mesh base. Further earthy tonality pops through the branding and midsole, all evidently reflecting something of a throwback, time capsule concept; worn textures and a treasure trove shoebox indicate just that.
