In the early goings of this news cycle, our understanding was that the many ‘Mons featured within would grace three pairs each. For the electrified mouse, it was two versions of the adidas Superstar and one for the related Pro Model; fittingly classic for the franchise’s everlasting mascot. Yet with this Megaride F50, Pikachu looks to a modern invention, as the Megaride F50 has been a buzzy name throughout World Cup celebrations and otherwise collaborative efforts — Rayquaza has taken its spin on the shoe elsewhere in this video game link-up.
Flowing out from a cutesy Pikachu badge on the heel, veins of shocking lightning run down the lateral and medial sides, only interrupted on the outside with a similarly vivacious Three Stripes hit. Otherwise, it’s a dusky black and yellow affair throughout this shoe, leaning into the high-velocity atmosphere that already defines the F50 as a silhouette.
The global launch of the adidas Pokemon offerings took place today, September 22nd, but only select styles are available now. This pair is likely to follow with some of the colorways we initially covered, yet haven’t touched down yet, with September 24th already circled for some collection “reinforcement.” This Pokemon x adidas Megaride F50 “Pikachu” commands a $200 retail price.
