Matt Varga Even amid dalliances with Vans or Crocs, A Bathing Ape has continually found its most consistent partner in Germany. The BAPE x adidas relationship has gotten every manner of high-profile moment you can imagine, starring amid the World Cup push this past year, enlisting third partners like CLOT or Undefeated, and dropping a constant stream of more run-of-the-mill capsules in the spaces between. As we begin to close out 2026, adidas and BAPE are sliding in with a buzzer-beating Holiday capsule centered on the Goukana and Crazy Energy.
Given that their recent work has focused on titans like the adidas EVO SL, the appearance of both shoes included here is something of a surprise. The Goukana, a super-chunky, running-inspired silhouette that bears some similarity in purpose to the Aruku, has been measured in its strategy to date, dropping off just a few mainline colorways and one collab with Sneaker Politics. It’s not a stretch at all to say this is the model’s most expressive colorway to date, utilizing a gradient sole to match APE camo in the uppers and multicolored patent leather overlays. Golden badges down the lace unit pair with a white/gold Star that cuts through the more vibrant hues anchoring this design.
Then we flip to the BAPE x adidas Crazy Energy, perhaps a bit more understandable of an inclusion. The Crazy Energy family has been the Three Stripes’ most notable inline hoops proposition of this year, with the base model earning several PEs, including the Jalen Williams adidas that we recently uncovered. The Energy+ leans into its futuristic hardware with all-over chrome applications, bearing an abstract interpretation of the same APE camo painted on its shell. “WGM” text appears on the lace shroud, adapting a longtime BAPE motto in “World Gone Mad.”
At the time of this writing, we don’t have a firm release date for the BAPE x adidas Goukana and Crazy Energy, but we’re confident in predicting a drop before the end of the year. Co-branded apparel is also coming alongside the shoes.
