Nike has been “restoring the feeling” around the Air Force 1 by taking it back to one of its best eras, reviving the ‘01 cut and coming out with a slew of standout patent leather looks across the board. Beaverton’s latest is about to be a viral hit for a number of reasons, taking on the ‘07 shape with a Bright Cactus and Dark Iris colorway reminiscent of The Joker, coming sooner than you think to the Nike website.
Chalk it up as another W for Nike. The Swoosh has admirably been creating a great deal of energy around the Air Force 1 in recent seasons, replacing inspired yet audience-less looks with nostalgic styles that feel straight out of the 2000s, pure eye candy for longtime collectors who lived through the early Bape days. This spring’s Air Force 1 “Patent Pack” is a prime example, a trio of simple colorways that flew off shelves and now command two to three times retail on the aftermarket. The “Horse Of A Different Color” series deserves a shoutout as well, and given the pair at hand, we’d be remiss not to call out the “Iron Man” Forces dropping in the near future.
Aligning well with the villain’s animated appearances, the Nike Air Force 1 “Joker” sports Bright Cactus green on the toe box, quarter, tongue, midsole stitching, and outsole. Black patent leather overlays rein things in, while Dark Iris purple hits on the tongue and laces enable the Joker comp. To cap it all off we have the retro oval lace dubrae in metallic silver.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Joker” is beginning to hit retailers globally, meaning a Nike.com drop should be right around the corner. Retail is set at $125.
