Andrew Rizzo It’s about that time of year again. Under the creative direction of Gary Aspden, adidas’ archive-inspired SPZL sub-brand returns with its latest seasonal collection for Fall/Winter 2026, arriving November 6th via adidas CONFIRMED and select retailers worldwide.
Six models make up the latest offering, spanning a diverse blend of genres and eras. Aspden has also been kind enough to share the stories behind each design on his Instagram, which we highly recommend you check out for yourself.
There are a few interesting developments worth highlighting. For the third consecutive season, SPZL includes an overtly formal-leaning silhouette, perhaps reflecting the broader crossover between sneaker culture and traditional dress footwear we’ve seen gaining traction. Following the Lytham in FW25 and Punstock in SS26, the adidas Albrecht II SPZL takes the baton in a “Dusky Bronze” leather finish. Originally introduced in 2015, the Albrecht drew inspiration from vintage Freizeit leisure shoes and the adidas Sevilla. This latest iteration builds on a decade of refinement with updated upper proportions, revised color and material blocking, darker custom foxing tape, suede overlays, debossed tongue branding, and heavier heel stitching, all while retaining the Gazelle-derived tooling of its predecessor.
As is customary with SPZL’s Fall/Winter offerings, Aspden and co. also revisit the Three Stripes’ extensive outdoor and hiking archive. The adidas Wetherlam SPZL continues the line’s long-running exploration of outdoor-inspired footwear, borrowing the visual language of ’90s hiking boots while maintaining the everyday wearability of a trainer. Developed as a follow-up to the C.P. Company x adidas Helvellyn SPZL, the design draws on archival outdoor styles, including the Top Light boot, and incorporates contrasting 3-Stripes, two-layer technical woven tape, and adi-Tex construction.
The Albrecht II SPZL and Wetherlam SPZL are joined by the Halewood SPZL, Boston II SPZL, and two colorways of the Hawaii SPZL to complete the Fall/Winter 2026 lineup.
