With all the premium releases available from Converse Japan and the First String collection having come in the wake of his initial releases, it’s clear that John Varvatos’ influence on the One Star is deeper than his own collaborative designs. And Varvatos’ own capsule continues with new John Varvatos x Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars having just hit retail. Both of them carry the same vintage luxury look that typifies his designs, contrasting precisely constructed patterned uppers with pre-blackened soles that look like you’ve had em for years. One pair goes for a faux basket weave look while the other keeps it simple with stripes but adds a variety of studs along the eyelets and heel for a hard rockin’ look. Click through to see both of these and look for ’em at select Converse retailers in the US soon; they just hit Taiwan’s Invincible.
