Elliot Santiago Diving into the artistic space of the City of Angels, Nike’s latest ALL FOR 1 Series links up with LA-based artist Lauren Halsey to put her spin on this upcoming Air Force 1 High dedicated to her hometown. Widely known within her community for crafting textured installations built entirely from fabricated and handmade objects from around the city, Halsey integrates elements of her signature style and merges this with funkadelic personality inspired by her South Central upbringing. Essentially a remixed version of the classic “Tripe Black” AF1 High, this brand new Sportswear footwear offering delivers vibrant accents of red and green, exchangeable straps, and block letter tongue wordings that allude to posters that continuously plaster themselves across Los Angeles. Furthermore, the South Central story progresses with the sock liners showcasing an assortment of LA storefronts, as well as the screen-printed dubraes that feature hand-lettered etchings similar to that of her Hieroglyph Crenshaw Project that allows members of her neighborhood to voice their own stories.
