Nike SB, during its heyday, left no holiday uncelebrated, and now with its slow rise back to the top, it seems the brand is also gradually getting back on track. Last Halloween had the Dunk Low dress up in spooky costume — webs, spiders, and nightmare-fueled themes all included — while months prior its High-top counterpart got on all fours in a canine-themed 4/20 tooling. Skipping past Christmas as well as New Years, the sub-label is looking onwards to Valentine’s Day, appropriately recruiting StrangeLove Skateboards to tag along. The pair, whose slow burn has been marked with many a tease, finally arrives in its most detailed look yet, revealing more vibrantly its sultry velvet base and on-brand palette of pink and red. The latter seats the accents — linings, laces, branding, swooshes — while the former sees more widespread use as it outfits the aforementioned unders as well as the suede-affixed overlays; sole units mark with complement on the tread up to white midsole walls while cobranding finds way along the tongue patch as well as the mostly hidden insole graphic. Grab a detailed look here and expect to see these hit skate shops and hopefully Nike SNKRS come later this February.
