Throughout its 31-year-history, the Nike Air Max 90 has emerged in ensembles inspired by everything from bacon to bubbles. For its latest proposition, Tinker Hatfield’s design has indulged in a black and orange colorway informed by leather sports balls – football or rugby.
At a glance, the forthcoming pair resembles a Halloween-ready option with its dark color scheme: patent leather, suede, mesh and TPU detailing across the upper boast all-black makeups. Closer inspection, however, reveals a brown and white graphic on the tongue label reminiscent of old school rugby balls or standard ones for American football. Profile swooshes also indulge in a spotted brown arrangement, coupled with white contrast stitching. Lacing, collar lining and “NIKE AIR” branding on the heel follow suit, as does the midsole (Air Max unit included). Underfoot, waffle-patterned outsoles deliver a vibrant orange tone.
