Virgil Abloh Reveals Shoebox For Nike Dunk “Dear Summer” Collection

Virgil Abloh Reveals Shoebox For Nike Dunk “Dear Summer” Collection

Virgil Abloh‘s follow-up to the Off-White x NIKE, Inc. “The Ten” has been anticipated since the capsule’s initial launch in 2017. Over the past few months, the Illinois-native has been linked to a number of rumors, including one that the man himself has recently partially confirmed via social media: A 50-pair Nike Sportswear collection.

Anticipated to only include the Nike Dunk Low, Abloh’s “Dear Summer” collection is seemingly intended to serve as a conduit through which the designer can express stories as vivid as those of JAY-Z or Jeezy – both artists with songs sharing the title of the Off-White frontman’s forthcoming collaboration. Although nothing but a sneaker’s shoebox has been co-signed by the YEEZY-alum, it reveals an updated approach to packaging, as the box is stamped with “LOT” and numbers ranging from “01” to “50” on the right side. Free-hand swooshes adorn the brown cardboard box, as does a number of circular cutouts; the fashion labels hand-and-face logo appears in green on the lid. Lastly, style codes adorn the shoe’s packaging, nodding to the theme of transparency Abloh introduced via his first NIKE, Inc. project.

Enjoy a first-look at the “Dear Summer” line-up’s packaging here below, and anticipate more details (and a Nike SNKRS release) as the end of summer approaches.
