Throughout the last seven months, adidas Originals has enjoyed newfound attention thanks to co-signs from the likes of Jerry Lorenzo and Bad Bunny. While less known than the aforementioned influencers, Alex Lopez of YOUTH OF PARIS is the latest creative to lend his touch to the Three Stripes’ history. The canvas?: The adidas Campus ’80s.
In an Instagram post shared on July 1st, Lopez touted the silhouette as one of his favorites from adidas. Expected to drop before the year concludes, YOUTH OF PARIS’ footwear collaboration indulges in a dark denim with intentional distressing, haphazard stitching and other “DIY”-like details. Profile 3-Stripes slightly deviate from their covert surroundings in a light grey tone, but they’re overshadowed by the vibrant purple and neon green that appear throughout the medial mid-foot, lateral heel and tongue. Parisian label’s name is printed onto the tongue and sock-liner, with both components boasting vastly-different fonts. Lastly, the shoes are packaged in a special box and with additional sets of laces, a choice that further plays into the Campus ’80s’ one-of-one capabilities.
Enjoy a closer look at the collaborative pair here below, and anticipate adidas.com release details as the end of 2021 inches closer.
