While not the most commercially successful trio in music, N.E.R.D. has been credited by the likes of Tyler, the Creator as a huge inspiration. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its debut album, “In Search Of…,” Pharrell Williams has prepped a special edition of his adidas NMD Hu sneaker.
It’s unsure whether or not Chad Hugo and Shay Haley had creative input in the BOOST-cushioned silhouette, but what’s certain is that they’ve added integral value to the four-letter acronym embroidered from forefoot to tongue. Furthermore, the Virginia-natives brought the lightbulb-brain logo from the shores of Virginia Beach to Japan and Rio de Janeiro (if you know, you know). The sneaker indulges in a rather simple arrangement, with a predominantly “Chalk” aesthetic. Accompanying accents boast more vibrant “Clear Mint,” “Glow Orange” and “Icy Blue” tones, with right shoe’s donning a “20” graphic on the upper heel. Packaging hasn’t been revealed, but this commemorative pair is deserving of a special edition shoe box or included accessories, as was the case with albums and vinyls produced in the early 2000s.
Enjoy images of Pharrell’s latest adidas NMD Hu ahead, and find the pair launching globally via the adidas CONFIRMED app on August 6th.
Elsewhere under the adidas umbrella, the Jeremy Scott Wings 1.0 “Money” is set to return soon.
