Michael Le Damian Lillard is a well-documented fan of wrestling. The athlete is even playable in WWE 2k Battlegrounds under the alias Laheem Lillard, a name that also appears on this upcoming adidas Dame 8.
Previously, in a Twitter thread posted around three years ago, Lillard said his wrestling name would be “La Heem The Dream” if he ever took part in the sport. This idea, though a work of fiction, has manifested itself atop his signature adidas shoe, whose latest colorway shines in white and gold. The latter, which is applied across the midsole and instances of the aforementioned pseudonym, likely mirrors the front champion’s belt, with the adjacent neutral emulating the strap. Within the shoe, “The Dream” is spelled out in bold along the insole, accompanying boxing gloves in nod yet another one of the point guard’s many interests.
