As evidenced by Aimé Leon Dore’s Spring/Summer 2022 lookbook, the New Balance 991 is positioned to have a breakout year. Although much of its 20th anniversary plans were interrupted by global supply issues, the Made In U.K. staple is celebrating with the likes of Sneakersnstuff (SNS), which has recently dropped a “Secret Colorway” of the model.
Inspired by the Swedish boutique’s first-ever collaboration with New Balance from 2005, the newly-launched pair (which arrives for men and women) features premium leather and pig suede materials throughout the upper, dipped in tones meant to resemble the Swedish and Canary Islands flags. “Yellow” and “Mint” tones land throughout the shoes, nodding to the original New Balance 577 crafted at the company’s 40-year-old, Flimby, Cumbria, U.K.-based factories, which got the desired blue color slightly off. Underfoot, however, ABZORB-cushioning is faithfully reproduced as it debuted on the 991 in 2001 for a high-performing ride that collectors all over the world have come to know and love.
Enjoy a closer look at the pair ahead, and head over to SNS.com right now to secure your pair for $260 USD.
Elsewhere under the NB umbrella, the New Balance 550 has recently emerged in new colorways.
