Kyrie Irving is “box office,” that’s been well-documented. What’s been lesser known is the Brooklyn Nets guard’s love for the Nike Dunk Low. Soon enough, the soon-to-be-30-year-old will finally be able to say that he has his very own colorway of Peter Moore’s iconic design.

Before figures like Travis Scott helped propel Nike SB releases from decades past into uncharted territory within the after-market, the New Jersey-raised Irving rocked the made-for-skate Dunk off the court. (Several Nike Kyrie basketball sneakers have drawn inspiration from some of the most iconic SB designs, too.) Although much remains a secret about Irving’s Dunk Low, it appears that the first pair unveiled opts for a non-SB build. Most of the shoe resembles the “White/University Blue” style that’s become ever-popular over the last three years. Kyrie Irving logos replace traditional branding on the tongue, while “NIKE” text at the heel also indulges in its vibrant red flair. Underlays at the collar deviate from their surroundings in a cream color accompanied by an “11”-reminiscent print (Irving’s jersey number). Lastly, the Air Jordan 1-like outsoles introduce a red clay aesthetic to the mix.

No firm Nike SNKRS details have been confirmed by the brand, but that’s likely to change as summer inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy an early look at the pair ahead, courtesy of Instagram user @woganwodeyang.
