Sneaker News The punk-rock aesthetic has always been a springboard of inspiration for Rick Owens as he’s experimented with welding his personal aesthetic to the style of that subculture. Born from that concept was a series of provoking footwear such as the Geobasket and Ramones, and later the TURBODRK Chuck 70 from his debut collection with Converse. Now, the designer and brand are ready to explore another silhouette as they land on the Converse Weapon as the frame for the TURBOWPN.
This upcoming release captures all the signature looks that Owens introduced with earlier models; the hyper-extended tongue, and bulked midsole, and altered logos all return on this mix of contemporary fashion and minimalism. Two colorways of Egret and Clay will serve as the introductory options for this silhouette and will also be accompanied by a matching cap and tote.
Both the Egret and Clay colorways are scheduled to release on May 3rd on Converse and RickOwens.eu for $200; see the official images ahead.
