Although COMME des GARÇONS is well-known as one of NIKE, Inc.’s most-established partners, the conglomerate’s SHIRT division has been collaborating with ASICS for quite some time. Recently, both Japanese-related insertions have come together once again to reimagine the ASICS GEL-Lyte V.
Unlike a GEL-Lyte III from both brands from early 2020, the newly-surfaced pair indulges in a clean “Black” and “White” color combination. Materials throughout the sneaker’s upper divvy up the two-tone arrangement, evenly, with curved overlays across the upper boasting the darker of the two hues. “White” also takes over much of the midsole, but is accompanied by an animal pattern-reminiscent print, just as is the case across the upper’s base layer. Branding for both collaborators lands on the lateral profiles.
