Nike’s looking far and wide for their various in-line collections of sportswear product. Ranging from the art of plant-dyeing to the vacation-themed “Sunset” Pack, Nike retro icons have dressed up in a never-ending selection of materials and colors — and it’s not stopping there.
Decorating your favorite footwear models like the Air Max 90 is a set of iconography that can be described as a retro UFO thematic. Sharing similar elements to the “Area 72” collection that launched at All-Star Weekend in 2013, this latest design focuses heavily on logo placements, with the classic pinwheel logo (a circular array of Swoosh checks) laid above the NIKE tag on the tongue and the stylized “90” on the mudguard. Furthermore, Nike adds opaque rubber soles on both styles, further expressing the energy of the theme. The edges of the mudguard also feature an exposed piping similar to material found on insulation.
Both colorways of the Air Max 90 SE are set to arrive on Nike.com and partnering retailers soon; see a look at two options ahead and we’ll update you on availability.
