Recognized as one of the most iconic frontmen in music history, Liam Gallagher needs no introduction. In addition to being one of Britain’s most unapologetic musicians, the Manchester-native is also a rabid adidas trainer fan.
In 2019, the Three Stripes and Oasis ex-lead singer debuted their first collaborative silhouette as part of the adidas Spezial line, a segment founded and operated by Gallagher’s close friend, Gary Aspden. The follow-up to that design – aptly dubbed the LG2 SPZL – was unveiled in April at an exclusive concert in Blackburn’s King George’s Hall, and has only finally gotten a firm retail release date. Archival adidas squad and indoor models served as inspiration for the sleek trainer, with the “Bluebird” pantone being directly lifted from classic adidas Originals boxes. “Endorsed by Liam Gallagher” portraits are printed onto the tops of tongues, while the Spezial line’s Mod Trefoil logo appears at the right shoe’s heel. Together, each aforementioned component creates an ensemble rooted in personal style as well as appreciation for and knowledge of the Three Stripes.
