The thisisneverthat® x New Balance 1906R And 2002R Release On August 4th

feature image

As New Balance continues to energize its lifestyle-focused Running propositions, the Boston-based brand keeps seeking out the help of a select cohort of strategic partners, among them South Korea’s thisisneverthat®.

Since 2010, the Far East Asian label has delivered compelling, straightforward takes on traditional streetwear, with recent years having seen the imprint bring its vision to institutions like New Era. thisisneverthat® helped re-launch the 2002R in 2020, outfitting the once-failed sneaker with simple ensembles rooted in vintage sensibility. Its latest collaboration with the North American footwear stalwart injects a cleaner look into the “Refined Future” collection headliner, but delivers an “aged” finish via the 1906R, an updated version of the mid-2010s running shoe. Both offerings from the brand’s next capsule opt for varying shades of grey across their breathable mesh, premium suede and high quality leather uppers.

Enjoy campaign imagery of thisisneverthat®’s Fall 2022 collaboration with New Balance ahead, and find pairs available in-store and online via the South Korean brand on Friday, August 5th (U.S. online on Thursday, August 4th at 6 p.m. PDT/9 p.m. EDT).

For more “N”-branded footwear, check out the New Balance 990v6 expected to debut before 2022 ends.

UPDATE August 1st, 2022:
The thisisneverthat x New Balance 1960R and 2002R release stateside via NewBalance.com on Friday, August 19th.
