Update: Sept 22, 2022
Paris Fashion Week in 2019 revealed a first look at Futura’s cooperative project with Virgil Abloh and Nike — a set of Dunk Low colorways that touched on the classic college-style aesthetic, the graffiti artist’s trademark touches, and Virgil’s signature modifications. Three years later, the shoes are finally set to release on the late Off-White founder’s birthday on September 30th.

Originally surfacing in a classic UNC and Syracuse college-style colors, the Futura x Off-White x Nike Dunk Low utilizes the wide lacing layout with the elastic cords while combining the standard Helvetica text block with Futura’s unmistakeable graffiti-style type infused. His blotty style also appears on the underlayer at the toe-box, mid-panel, and heel, while special insoles feature Futura’s insignia in a repeated pattern. Donning the zip-ties and the “SHOELACES” at the tips of the strings, the Futura Off-White Dunks performed a perfect blend of three dominant styles that have yet to be matched in its allure.

Further details to follow, so check out this detailed look at the Off-White Futura Dunks from 2019 below.

Updated September 30th, 2022: Despite rampant rumors, a release of the Futura x Off-White x Nike Dunk Low did not occur on Virgil Abloh’s birthday.
