Amongst the NBA players that believe NBA champions can be considered “world champions,” Kevin Durant has first-hand experience competing and winning on the international level. The “Slim Reaper” did lace up his shoes for Team USA this year, but had he, he would’ve likely worn his Nike KD 16.
Durant debuted the shoe during the 2022-23 Playoffs, celebrating 16 years with the Swoosh. Netizens quickly found comparisons between the KD 16 and early models of the Air Penny line, which promises iconic performance. Fabric and textile components cover the bulk of the sneaker’s upper, with plastic “rails” appearing on the profiles. Special color schemes are expected on the silhouette, but the design’s debut style boasts a “Black” and “Vivid Purple” combination. The majority of the upper indulges in a pitch-dark finish, while the aforementioned plastic guards introduce a rich purple into the mix. “Bright Crimson” animates the sides of the tongue, as well as the gear-laden outsole underneath.

In related weaker news, the LeBron 21 is set to launch in time for the next NBA season.
