No, These Aren’t From Goodwill: adidas Is Releasing A Dirty Pair Of UltraBOOSTs

No, These Aren’t From Goodwill: adidas Is Releasing A Dirty Pair Of UltraBOOSTs

There’s no shame in buying a pair of pre-owned sneakers at a thrift store. Reusing product is actually encouraged as it is the truest form of practicing sustainability, which has made way for the rise of the pre-dirtied and the well-aged sneaker trend.

It’s fun when the shoes are actually thrifted and purchased at a fraction of the price, but charging full retail for a pair that looks like its already hundreds of miles deep is a bit…alarming. adidas is doing just that with their latest pair of the Ultraboost Light, the uber-comfortable and well-trusted running shoe that has had its core following and loyal fanbase since the base model launched in 2015. Using a simple white/grey colorway as the base, adidas adds ample cosmetic wear and tear by adding dirt marks and surface-level scuffs all around the BOOST cushioning and the upper. The actual foam beads, upper, and Continental Rubber outsole are brand new, so they’ll perform just like any other pair, but the derelict aesthetic is an odd fit for performance running since runners take pride in beating down their wheels on their own.

If you’re into this bold look, adidas.com will stock these soon for $190.

In other adidas news, the Crazy IIINFINITY just appeared in a new “Charcoal” colorway.
