Updated June 21st 2024: Official images of the Nike Dunk Low “Oil Green” Safari just landed. While these shots confirm the layout we first saw at the end of May, a SNKRS showcase in the time since confirms that the sun-like perforations on the toe-box are a Paris reference, alluding to the radial arrangement of the streets in certain sections of the European metropolis. A concrete release date remains unclear, but we’re still projecting a Fall ’24 release.

At this point, it’s easy to write off the Nike Dunk Low as outlet fodder, a shoe that’s so ubiquitous that new colorways aren’t worthy of note. However, the widespread adoption of Peter Moore’s design belies the fact that out of all the models in the Nike catalog, it’s shown off the most eclectic outfits over its history. Few editions are able to navigate both of those lanes as well as the upcoming Nike Dunk Low “Safari.”
The nature-inspired pattern is applied deeply, grafted onto the Swoosh and all of the leather overlays, folding in shades of “Oil Green” and “Treeline” in the process. Though we’ve seen plenty of flips on the “Be True To Your School” two-tone configuration in the past, this is enough of a major change to make this iteration stand out. Additionally, the toe box switches the vent holes into a radial, sun pattern, further distinguishing this colorway from mainline releases.
Finally, it’s hard to not to think of pairs like the Nike Dunk Low “Olympic Safari” or PS8 “Olympic” given the similarity of the print. The difference in palette might be enough to dispel that notion, but only time will tell if there are any further thematic ties at play here.
Release details surrounding Nike Dunk Low “Safari” are scant at the time of writing. Keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates 2024 page for the latest updates.
