Original article posted July 12th, 2024: We may not be in the peak of boot season, but that means that it’s prime time to make a statement by reaching for a pair. The Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn, one of many twists on Mike’s first signature, is doubling down on that gaudy prompt, emerging in a fully chromed out outfit set to land soon.

If this is your first time catching the sneaker-turned-boot, many of the foremost changes are easily clockable at first glance. While the middle third of the shoe is intact from mainline Air Jordan 1s, an ultra-high platform sole and similarly stretched collar section catapult this model far from the simplistic retro basketball appeal of the parent model.

The palette largely speaks for itself; reflective leather handles everything above the sole, while that section opts for matte grey in complementary fashion. Zooming out, this pair continues the legacy of shoes released earlier this year like Air Jordan 1 High “Chrome” and its low counterpart, and slides into a decidedly gray-heavy upcoming slate that includes the Jordan 4 “Paris Olympics” and Jordan 12 “Wolf Grey.”

The Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn “Metallic Silver” will hit Nike.com and retailers soon, retailing at $165 upon arrival.
