The first big sneaker holiday of 2025 takes place on January 29th with the start of the “Year Of The Snake,” and consistent as ever, all the biggest brands are touching down with Lunar New Year collections featuring some of their most prominent models. Having spilled in on Year Of The Snake Jordans, Nikes, and adidas shoes thus far, we’re now circling back to preview what New Balance has in store.
The Boston brand is taking a more subtle approach to LNY shoes this year, favoring a design theme inspired by moon phases as opposed to the Chinese zodiac animal. The New Balance 1000 checks in with stealthy makeup, incorporating a greyscale gradient base and tasteful reflective touches on the sidewalls, laces, and quarter logo. A similar yet lighter gradient overtakes the New Balance 1906R, while the newly-introduced New Balance 740 opts for a tonal, dusty scheme inspired by moonrock. Rounding out the pack is the New Balance WRPD Runner, presented in a grey/black colorway with gradient logos and a lighter off-white option (both of which feature rope laces).
All five shoes are available now via atmos and are expected to hit the New Balance website in the near future. See detailed images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview other upcoming New Balance shoes.
