The New Balance 1906 Loafer Tries Out All “Olive”

The oddball model marches on.

The New Balance 1906 Loafer Tries Out All “Olive”

The New Balance 1906L has been on the market long enough that you’ve likely made your mind up on the silhouette one way or the other, discounting it as a shoe that’s too far of field to ever crack your rotation or a bit of experimentation that’s a home run in the hybrid lane. To its credit, there have been enough folks in the latter camp to warrant instant sell-outs in many of its debut editions. Whether it can keep that momentum going into its later looks will come down to the strength of successive colorways, like the New Balance 1906 Loafer “Olive” at hand.

Returning to its traditional mixed media composition after forays into suede and all-leather, this still registers close to the “Rich Oak” pair from earlier this year. That’s on two fronts: executing a refined, tonal blend with earthy olive tones throughout the mesh foundation, overlays, and TPU dressing, and in terms of blocking, keeping that rich monochrome intact in the upper and pinning a black outsole underfoot. At least in our view, this makes for the easiest colorways of the model to digest, hitting close to traditional formalwear chromatically while letting the off-kilter hardware sit on a more subterranean level.

Look for the New Balance 1906 Loafer in “Olive” to hit NewBalance.com for Fall 2025, sometime from July to September. Keep our Sneaker Release Dates page close by for more updates, or simply check out the gallery of official images below while we await a hard date.
