The adidas Megaride F50 Is Ready To Take Over In All-Black

Updated December 30th, 2025: A release is set for January 1st, 2026 for $180 USD.

Original article published December 17th, 2025:

Megaride is to adidas what Shox is to Nike, and much like that latter pairing, it’s become clear that Megaride footwear will be a key pillar of adidas’ retro-tech lineup moving forward. The 2000s running franchise enjoyed a proper rebirth in 2025, defined by collaborations and a wide range of styles both old and new, particularly those informed by adidas’ deep soccer archive. That momentum carries into 2026 with the debut of a new all-black adidas Megaride F50 style, shown here via official images.

A handful of Megarides carrying the F50 name have already released, with those versions leaning into sleek, glossy leather uppers and printed graphics inspired by the iconic soccer boot franchise. This iteration takes a different approach, aligning more closely with the “Spider” version of the F50 cleat. TPU webbing overlays a mesh base, bleeding into a thick rubber toe cap that hosts F50 branding, then tapering into a slim synthetic mudguard and a glossy black plate attached to the Megaride cushioning.

Originally introduced in the 2000s, Megaride was one of the most innovative and visually striking cushioning systems of its era, defined by an open-tunnel midsole designed for responsive comfort. Two decades later, it’s a natural addition to today’s Y2K-centric lifestyle shoe market.

The black adidas Megaride F50 releases January 1st, 2026 via adidas and select retailers for $180 USD. See official images below if these are speaking to your taste.
